Computer-generated distribution map, produced in 2003 from records in a database available on this site.

(Note: Monroe County, Florida, includes the southwest portion of the tip of mainland Florida and the upper and lower keys. These three parts of that county are mapped separately in the "dot maps" but not in the computer-generated distribution maps, which are strictly at the county level.)

Ron Lyons was reading Rentz's 1973 publication The Shield-backed Katydids of the Genus Idiostatus and noticed there were three county records listed for this species (Siskiyou County, California and Klamath and Jackson Counties, Oregon; page 47) but only two records were on the map (page 43). He checked SINA's distribution map and saw that it too only had two records. He sent me an email in November 2023 to inform me about the missing record. I checked Tom Walker's spreadsheet, tblMain, which lists all species records from 2003 to 2008. The two counties listed for I. gurneyi were Klamath and Siskiyou. I created a new map for I. gurneyi with Jackson County added and updated the records database.
