Remarks:
|
Wetterer & Hugel (2014) give a thorough account of the establishment of this species in North America. The earliest and the farthest north record of the species is J.C. Trager’s 1984 record of the species’ occurrence in Gainesville, Florida. Otherwise, the earliest North American records of this species were by Mark Deyrup, during 1989-2000 outside buildings at Archbold Biological Station (Highlands County). All of Deyrup’s collections occurred when the Old World ant Paratrechina longicornis was swarming after their colonies had been disturbed.
