1) Metaleptea, the society’s tri-annual newsletter (generally sent out Spring, Summer, Fall) contains news about the society’s meetings and publications, information about members, book reviews, short articles about members’ research projects and other Polyneoptera-related matters, and submitted photographs. Metaleptea is free to all members of the society.
2) The Journal of Orthoptera Research is a bi-annual, open access, peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Pensoft. Original papers are invited on all biological aspects of Orthoptera and the other nine orders of Polyneoptera. Members of the Orthopterists’ Society can publish for free.
3) Books (and more) on Orthoptera and other Polyneoptera are published irregularly, and include Otte and Perez-Gelabert’s “Caribbean Crickets,” Naskrecki’s “Katydids of Costa Rica,” Otte’s 8 volumes of the “Orthoptera Species File” (its legacy is now also a website, Orthoptera Species File Online), and Fontana, Buzzetti, and Mariño-Pérez’ “Grasshoppers, Locusts, Crickets and Katydids of Mexico,” plus many more!
