Song: Weissman and Gray (2019) described the song as a long trill with pulses evenly spaced. Pulse rate 30-45 at 25°C.
Identification: A key to the adult males of native US Gryllus is in Weissman and Gray (2019).

Habitat: Areas of human disturbance, including rangeland; found in cracks in soil or structures.
Life cycle: Apparently two field generations/year; in the laboratory, no diapause at any stage and 3-4 generations per year.
Season: Adults known from June through October.
Name derivation: "Regularis", in reference to the regular spacing of pulses in the trilling song.
